I’ve been told that Paramore is emo. What the hell i didn’t think that was emo.
I don’t wanna be known as a emo, but I quite like this band… Please can someone tell me am i right or wrong?

Emo doesn’t affect your personality unless you let it. The way I see it, Listen to whatever music you want to. If you like R&B And Rock, thats fine. Likewise with emo. Just don’t take it to the extreme and start dressing in black and wearing makeup.
But they’re Kinda emo in my books. Since emo people listen to them. But that doesnt matter anyway ^^

lol emo has been made into something it isnt, and somehow if a band is something that someone doesnt like, or something that doesnt fit normal ‘trend’ it is classed as emo, you cant class anything these days as emo as the whole genre has been made into a culture, rather a music genre it was 5 years ago.
Paramore isnt emo, there punk from what i belive.
Not in a million years! Seriously I’m shocked you think that. Punk is bands like The Jam, The Clash, Sex Pistols and so on… Yeah, all British.
Real Punk is dead… American bands like Green Day, Bowling For Soup, Blink 182 and Sum 41 arn’t real punk…
the jam are not punk, sex pistols are, and the clash i suppose could maybe be classed as punk, as their earlier stuff. but i seriously disagree with you if you say the jam is punk.
like i said, emo is a huge genre these days, and covers wayyy too much music, im not saying i like it or im not saying i dont, its just that the whole world has taken the music “emo” and blown it completely out of proportion, and people scapegoat music that the dont know and class alternative music as “emo”. Even tho i dont like “emo” i still dont think this is right.
Also wikki does lie as its a open and anyone can edit it, hence why you should never reference from it.
They claim to be “Punk” but Punk nowadays is nothing like true Punk. Really they are an emo band but they don’t want to advertise themselves like that and I guess some of their songs are close to becoming pop rock. They’ve split up anyway
Paramore is not an emo band their are pop rock..only their fashion makes their emo..

They’re POP, not punk, not “emo”. Corperate MTV radiofriendly POP.
paramore just does music regardless of what genre people put them into. i guess this is what they, and other bands, want their fans, and f^cked up folks who listen to them, to do- APPRECIATE. if they don’t know how to, leave the band alone and shut the f^ck up. ’cause for as long as “emo” lives, it’ll always be a messed-up term for kids who exaggerate the use of an eye-liner.

They are not emo, although some songs (especially some of the first album) are a bit emo. People who say it’s emo don’t know anything about music.
They are punk/rock, like Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance…
